Group Leader
Tim Vandeman

About the skipper:
Tim Vandeman has been sailing on the Chesapeake Bay for over 20 years. He has owned a 30 ft sailboat, a 34 ft sailboat and now his family are the new owners of a Helia 44 Sailing catamaran. Tim is not licensed to teach sailing and is not a licensed captain. He welcomes you to come and learn from his experience.
The boat: The Helia 44 Sailing Catamaran is 44 ft long and 24 ft wide. A catamaran is a more stable sailing boat than a monhaul type. All sailboats rock and roll in the waves so seasick prone individuals should be cautious to attend. The boat has working bathrooms, AC, kitchen facilities and a grill.
